Privacy notice

What information do we collect and why?

Information that you provide to the College

For example: when you complete an online form on the website.

We may require you to enter personal information such as your name, address and other contact information in certain cases. We will only ask for this information if it is necessary for us to know, for the purposes of the reason you are supplying the information to us.

Information that we collect when you visit our site

When using this website we collect certain information about your visit:

  • Server logs: Like most websites, our servers automatically record certain information when you visit; this includes your computer’s IP address, the time, the page requested and information about your browser and operating system. This information is stored securely within College and is used to troubleshoot potential issues, and monitor access to the web servers.
  • Website statistics: The College uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about how the website is being used; for example what pages are most popular, how visitors are finding the website and at what point they leave, and the types of device that are being used to access the website. This service sets a cookie on your computer (find out more). We collect this information in order to review our website and continuously improve our services. No personal information is collected.
  • Third party cookies: Third-party services may also set cookies on your computer which can be used to collect information about your visit to our website. Find out more…

What do we do with the information?

We only keep your personal information for as long as we need it.

We will not use your personal information to contact you about any matter other than that which you supplied the information for, unless we have your explicit consent to do so.

The College works with third parties (‘Agents’), such as consultants, contractors and other affiliated organisations, who may have access to personal information you supply to the College through our web services. These agents are bound by confidentiality obligations, and privacy agreements with the College, to never use or store your information beyond the scope and duration of their engagement with the College. In our working with such agents your personal information may be transferred and stored outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

With the exception of the Agents outlined above, and to comply with legal obligations, we will never share, sell or distribute your personal information to any third parties without your explicit consent.

Securing your data

Technical measures

There are a range of technical security measures in place to help protect your personal information. For example, whenever you submit personal information through this website you should see that the web address beings with ‘https://’; depending on your browser you may also see a padlock symbol appear before the URL.

This means that you are sending information to our server using an encrypted connection, which makes it much harder for someone to ‘eavesdrop’ on the information that you are sending to the website. It is as though the server and your computer are communicating using a language that only they understand.

Organisational measures

The College takes appropriate organisational measures to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and treated appropriately.

Agreement, questions and updates

By visiting our website and supplying your personal information to the College you consent to our processing and handling it in accordance with the terms outlined above.

If you have any questions or if you believe we hold out-of-date or incorrect data then please contact us.

We review the information in this policy regularly and so it may be updated from time to time to ensure its accuracy. It was last updated on 30 May 2013.
