[Thomas Poole (1805-1894)]: autograph manuscript student journal, dated 2nd April 1827 – 31st March, 1828. Commercial copy, printed in London for Taylor & Hessey (7th ed.) Includes typescript introduction, index and appendix. Contains entries concerning daily life as an undergraduate student in Cambridge, including exams, studies, socialising with friends, walks to Grantchester and Cherry Hinton, and a boat trip to Ely to visit the cathedral. Poole was admitted as sizar to St John’s College in 1825 and graduated B.A. 1829; M.A. 1832.
