[Ayesha Mukherjee]: typescript-copy of doctoral thesis, entitled “Food and Dearth in Early Modern England: the Writings of Hugh Platt”. Hugh Platt, or Plat (1552-1608), was an English writer and inventor. He was admitted as a pensioner to St John’s College in 1568 and graduated B.A. in 1572. His most notable works include The Jewell House of Art and Nature (1594) and Floraes Paradise (1608).
