Sir Henry Fraser Howard, Latin verse book. Latin and English, late nineteenth century.

[Sir Henry Fraser Howard (1874-1943)]: Latin verse book c. 1891-1893. Contains Latin translations of English poems by William Collins (1721-1759); Abraham Cowley (1618-1667); Robert Herrick (1591-1674); Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882); John Milton (1608-1674); Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822); Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832); Lord Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892); and Sir Henry Wooton (1568–1639). Multiple translators: name or initials provided below the Latin text; corresponding Latin and English displayed on opposite sides of the page. Howard was educated at Aldenham Grammar and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He graduated BA in 1898 and was appointed to the Indian Civil Service in 1897. He retired from the Civil Service in 1925. In 1923, he was elected to a Fellowship at St John's College.
