Can we win the race against time to beat climate change? St John’s scientists debate in the latest Souvient Cambridge podcast

St John’s has launched the fifth episode of its podcast series Souvient, featuring a conversation between host Heather Hancock, Master of John’s, and a trio of experts from the College who all work at the forefront of their fields of research focusing on cutting edge technological advances around energy.

The episode features Professor Sir Richard Friend, Cavendish Professor of Physics, Professor Erwin Reisner, Professor of Energy and Sustainability, and Professor Andy Woods, Director of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Flows and Chair of the College’s Energy Transition Working Group.

The lively and informative discussion covers everything from how scientific theory is being turned into reality, to what needs to be done to halt the damage being done by the climate crisis.

In each episode of the podcast, Heather Hancock is joined by a notable person or people from across the College’s community for lively and thought-provoking discussions about their life and work. ‘Souvient’ is taken from 'Souvent me Souvient', the medieval French motto of St John’s Founder, Lady Margaret Beaufort. usually translated as ‘I often remember’, or ‘remember me often’.
